Install
- Open the disk image and drag Doorplate onto the Applications folder beside it.
- Open Doorplate from Applications.
- Grant Accessibility when asked (System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility). That is the only permission. It lets Doorplate find Mission Control’s labels and switch desktops the way your keyboard does.
- Doorplate then turns on macOS’ own “Switch to Desktop 1–10” shortcuts and restarts the Dock once. Your windows and desktops are not touched.
Requirements
- macOS 14 Sonoma or later. Tested on macOS 15.6 and macOS 27.0.
- Apple Silicon or Intel. One universal binary.
Coming from SpaceTags
Doorplate is the same app under its new name. The first time it opens it copies your names, icons, colors, shortcuts, tracked time and settings from the old bundle. Quit SpaceTags first, grant Doorplate Accessibility, and once you are happy, delete SpaceTags from Applications.
Uninstall
Quit Doorplate and drag it from Applications to the Trash. Your names are stored in your preferences under app.doorplate.Doorplate; delete that with the app if you want nothing left behind.
